This Evening: We, All Together

mw>>> Hey everybody, got a bit of a nepotism alert here, but it’s the best kind: See that tall tourist in the photo at right? That’s our Close Personal Friend Mickey Walker. You might know him from such unstoppable freak culture forces as Lilys, Mazarin, Blood Feathers and our own Foggy Notion dance party. (Fun trivia: Mickey’s also been the touring soundman for Jens Lekman and The Walkmen. Likes: Roasted pumpkin seeds, boat shoes, fur hats. Dislikes: Bummer vibes, The Man, pickles.) Anyway, Mickey has a new weekly DJ night at 700 (Second & Fairmount, NoLibs) called WE ALL TOGETHER, named after the Peruvian psych-rock band, and it starts tonight. Expect to hear that band, some post-punk, some Laurel Canyon hippie fringe, and much, much else. It’s free, it kicks off at 10pm, and hugs will be in abundance. That’s just how The Tall Tourist rolls.
>>> Camper Van Beethoven tonight. In 2009! Can you believe it? It’s true. At World Cafe Live.
