This has nothing to do with anything, really, but yesterday, our friend Alexis sent us a link for this guy from Ann Arbor, MI called Mayer Hawthorne. He’s got this whole Stylistics/Delfonics vibe, he just got signed to Stone’s Throw, if that means anything to you, and he’s got a single out now called “Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out,” which has been released on heart-shaped vinyl. And, well, we are in love: We’ve probably listened to this track 25 times already and ooh wow, we’re going to listen to it again.

No word on if/when Mayer is playing Philly, but we’re ’bout it, ’bout it. We’ll keep an ear out, and so should you.
