This Weekend: Blood On The Tracks
FRIDAY:
>>> Blood Feathers, where have you been all my life? It’s been about two years since the group’s self-titled debut, and save for a gig here and there and a few demos leaked on MySpace, things have been quiet. We’re happy to report that it’s not for much longer, though. Tonight finds the band headlining Johnny Brenda’s with a this-close-to-being-finished new album’s worth of material. The group have been holed up in Clap Your Hands Say Yeah frontman Alec Ounsworth‘s studio out in Conshohocken with Quentin Stolzfus producing for months now, and oh hell yes, we got a leak:
Right-click here to download. The Oranges Band and The Homophones support.
>>> But that is not all, for this would seem to be the last blast of big touring acts for the next month or so, when we head into the actually quite nice Dead Zone: Oasis/Ryan Adams at the Susq, Wu Tang Clan at the Troc, Rhett Miller at World Cafe Live, and in case you missed the update yesterday, CSS, who’ve been moved to Making Time at Transit from the TLA.
>>> And lastly, fans of the O.G. White T’s & White Belts parties at the little red warehouse on Front St. just got an early Christmas present: Emynd & Bo present Faded, a BYOB party at that little red warehouse where it all started, which has now grown up and become the 941 Theater.
SATURDAY:
>>> Songs that DJs Walker & Sweeney will definitely be dropping at the FOGGY NOTION: HOLIDAY DANCING EDITION party at the Barbary (which, by the way, is FREE): “Christmas Wrapping,” “Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want To Fight Tonight),” “Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You,” and of course, “Father Christmas.” This is as close to a Philebrity Christmas Party as you’re gonna see this year, so let’s do it up all recession-chic: $1 PBR/Vodka Vitamin Waters until 11pm. It’s ALL mistletoe, baby. Who knows, maybe we’ll have a Christmas miracle and get those cases of Sparks off eBay we’re scoping.
>>> But first, in the afternoon: PUNK ROCK FLEA MARKET! At Starlight Ballroom, 10am-5pm.
>>> And of course, Bibliodiscotheque at National Mechanics, the library fundraising dance party we also like to call “LIBRARIANS GONE WILD.” It’s like a ZZ Top video in there.
SUNDAY:
We’re sure you’ll figure something out.

Punk Rock Flea Market postponed . . . Starlight had some permit problems with the city apparently. Bummer.
