Sneak Peek: 222′s Group Show

First, an apology: What with everything that’s been going on, we’ve allowed our art listings to slip into disarray. We’ll be working on that today, but while we do and are sifting through the piles of listings we need to update, we came across some images from 222 Gallery‘s Group Show, which opens this Friday, December 19th at 6pm. Included herein: Works from Diana Meaker, Ryan Beck, Todd St. John, John Freeborn, Jeffrey Stockbridge, Maureen Duffy, Damien Correll, Emily Erb, Trā Sipple and many more. The wisdom is that most “group shows” kind of suck, but this one seems kind of staggering — 3 pieces per artist, stacked salon-style in 222′s not-very-big space — and 222′s talent pool, as always, is impressive. More after the jump.

I was incredibly disappointed with 222 Gallery this evening. While the art was impressive, the Gallery did not have any pamphlets readily available for patrons to discern artists, piece names, or prices. On top of that, the staff were not friendly or helpful. In the time I was there, I was not greeted or directly spoken to by anyone. While obviously I’m not looking for a new best friend to walk around the room with me, I would do like to see a base level of good customer service. The only person whom appeared to be working (by the money she was handling) was both overly rude and seemed to be more involved with her friends than with helping potential Gallery customers. It’s a shame, because as I said, the art was fairly good. With my experiences tonight, I don’t think I’ll be going back any time soon.
