Let’s face it: With the Sixers in such a complete and total state of disarray, Philadelphia is basically left without a basketball team this year. And what with the Depression 2.0 and all bearing down, should we not do like our grandparents and great-grandparents and distract ourselves with the charms of marvelous physical comedy? After all, the world has gone to total shit and won’t be letting up anytime soon. Potential (three-hour) solution: The Harlem Globetrotters. Yes, they still exist! And from March 3rd through the 8th, they’ll be in the Philadelphia area. (We’re earmarking Sunday, March 8 at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Wachovia Center for potential field trip dates, and yes, we are mildly serious.) I can feel the laughter healing me already. By the way, has anybody queried Meadowlark on this whole financial crisis thing? He always was good in the clutch situations.
