Great Moments In Fearmongering: All Of Philadelphia Is A Soft Target

Oh Dave Davies, we thought better of you. But this piece on “Could the Mumbai attacks happen here?” Well, let’s just say we’ve switched our vote to Joel Rose for favorite Marty Moss-Coane fill-in host. Because come on, maaaaan. Let’s start with the most obvious reason this shit is bunk: Philadelphia has not been in conflict with India over ownership of Pakistan for centuries. Second most obvious reason: Terrorists in these times tend to go where the money is, and yo, have you peeped the recession map lately? We’re as brown as umami, baby. And even when the dude from the Coast Guard you tapped for quotes comes up dry on ways in which a boatload of terrorists could attack us by entering from the Delaware, you end it by basically saying, “But perhaps they could come by land!” Give it up, Davies, and fess: This might be the only way Philly benefits by the fact that, when it comes to us, the rest of the world could give a shit.
DN: Yoohoo, Terrorists, Over Here!

  1. C. The Impaler Says:

Dave Davies must have a spec script for a Philly based season of 24 out there or something and was fishing the Homeland Security phonebook for some remote plausibility. He didn’t even bring up the plot the FBI kept trying to get the Fort Dix Six to sign on to.

Would a Kinks joke be too much to ask?
