When the history books are written, no doubt there will be some sort of mention of how Ed Rendell didn’t dwell too much on how his horse, Hillary Clinton, didn’t quite make it and how it was pretty big of him to do everything he could to help hammer home a victory for both his party and Barack Obama. That was pretty rad. But you gotta wonder: What in the hell do these two have to talk about? To paint it in the most stark terms, Eddie is vice — he seems like a living testament to the finer points of excess — and Barack, by contrast, is virtue. Everything in its place. Well, you won’t be alone in the wondering; next Tuesday, Obama, Rendell and 40 other governors will convene in Philly as Obama shows ‘em all what’s been going on in the huddle lately. Playing host, of course, will be fast Eddie. Something tells us whatever awkward silences pop up will be quickly filled… with hoagies.
