oh wow. it seems david foster wallace has found a way to ruin a new generation of Serious Writers – this time, from beyond the grave!

no offense to DFW, of course. this won’t be the last time some hack digs up his bones to church up a new flavor of hot vanilla mess. but jeez, there’s not a lot to like here. and look at those quotes! a moveable feast, really?

based on this and his past work, i strongly feel that mr. stroud needs to, like, i don’t know, move away.

I’ll second djdeejay’s sentiment. I haven’t seen her in many years, but I recall the then-barely 18 year old to be a pleasant person to see and chat with either on the street or at the clubs. While I’m not surprised by her choice of career, I have and always wished the best for her – and hope that she remains happy and safe.

I skimmed the article and it sounds like she’s doing quite alright. I hope to run into her again now that I’m back in the city – so Stoya: if you’re reading this hon, get in touch!

I’ve known Stoya for about 5 years or so, well before she started working for Digital Playground.
I was at National Mechanics a number of months ago, hadn’t seen her in over a year, and she came running up to me and said “Hello” and gave a hug.
I’m not sure what her professional career is like(meaning I’ve never seen HER actually perform), but personally, she’s the same nice person she’s always been…for whatever that’s worth to the philebrity reader.

I didn’t think the article was THAT bad. It wasn’t very informative, but he used some choice adjectives. And Hey… It’s Free!

Also, Stoya seems like the girl for me. I have friend requested her on MySpace and we’ll just have to see where it goes. I’ll keep you all updated;)

Writer’s name familiar … yeah, I haven’t looked at this article but does he keep his shit together better than the time he “ventured” into the Broad St. concourse after midnight? Hey this was also the guy who was supposed to keep us posted on his “transformative journey” cross country on a bicycle. Whatever happened to that?
