Readers Write: Action News + Fox&Hound = Perfect Douchebaggery Forever

I wonder if there is something to that fact that every time 6ABC (WPVI) does their “man/woman on the street” interviews and location shoots for Phillies games, they ALWAYS end up at The Fox and the Hound in center city.Hardly any of the patrons in that douche factory actually live in Philadelphia proper, as evidenced by the suburban transplants to Manayunk whom they interview on air.
They need to hit the Locust Bar, which believe it or not has the BEST atmosphere for watching major Philly games. When I go there I don’t feel like I am one misinterpreted glance away from being punched in the face by a backwards baseball cap sporting, distressed jeans wearing homophobe.
Er…I mean…Go Phillies!
We feel you on this: Locust Bar rools, PJ McGillicutty’s Thank God It’s Applebees fucking drools. And in these end times, dear reader, please remember that in addition to the Phils victory being our goddamned BIRTHRIGHT at this point, there is also a nice boost to the local economy going on as well. So watching the Series (and dropping your dollars) in A FUCKING CHAIN BAR pretty much makes you a soulless asshole for life. Support your local barman. Just saying.

The BLT is killer, and the Bartender will tell you about the time he ditched a date at the Vet in the middle of a Phillies game 10 years ago.

Though I am generally skeptical of the crowd and hate the ambiance and food – I still often show up to Fox & Hound on Tuesdays for their $2.50 pint night. Where else can you get pints of Hop Devil, 60 Minute, Optimator, Hoeggarden, and the likes for $2.50? Added perk – they have the intarweb-ready jukebox so I can pay a dollar and listen to 20 minute yes songs.
Please help me find an alternative, readers, as I am ashamed to admit that I frequent the joint.

I hear you, Feculent, I lived a few blocks from Fox&Hounds, so I took advantage of Tuesdays as well. I don’t go out of my way to go there anymore, but I haven’t found a similar special yet anywhere else.
