This has been the only election in my lifetime that it is off limits to ask a candidate about his background and credentials. You Obama folks may be loving this but this is seriously a fucked up situation. The press in this country should be ashamed of themselves. Obama has been given (if you’ll pardon the pun) a quick whitewash. His background and beliefs have been buried by the press.
In the long run we are all going to lose.

Heh, I finally get it. Burnside is “retro.” He’s basically using the exact same “shady” insinuations folks tried to smear Bill Clinton with back in ’92. That tactic has been played out. Read the real Republican strategists’ (who sat out McCain’s forlorn hope campaign) books on reforming and resurrecting the party of ’10, which should all be in press come Xmas time. From the talk show circuit these folks are traveling, it seems step 1. is to throw the paranoid fear mongers under the bus.
The “who is Obama?” meme never stuck, and was probably the stupidest move of the McCain campaign next to the proposed debate suspension. The Republican party tore itself up over the primaries and pretty much shredded their credibility when, while we all still think Jack Bauer’s badass, we the American public realized that the real world is not a season of 24. ACORN is not COBRA either, Bill Ayers isn’t Major Bludd, Biden isn’t Destro, and Warren Buffet and George Soros aren’t Tomax and Xamot. Yes, I do believe making false analogies between players in the political sphere and GI Joe characters is more productive than treating Burnside seriously. And so can you!
