So, you know this John Hodgman guy, right? He’s the PC on the Mac Vs. PC commercials? Is on “This American Life” a lot? In his new book, More Information Than You Require, Hodgman makes the stunning assertation that throughout the ages, most human advancements have been made not by the figures that are so esteemed in history, but to mole men, a strange breed of underground-dwelling, human-like hairless creatures that are much, much smarter than us, and often misunderstood. He even goes so far as to list the names of 700 mole men throughout the ages. And sure enough, people are taking him seriously. The image at right is one of the illustrations that is part of the 700 Mole Men Project, an effort by Hodgman fans to put faces to those names. After the jump, Hodgman elaborates on the strange journey of the mole men. He appears on Friday night at the Latvian Society with David Rees of “Get Your War On” and Patrick Borelli.
