Readers Fwd: Washington Square Ho’s Will Steal The Money Right Out Of Your Couch

The below incidents in the Society Hill area were recently reported to the 6th District:

*(REPORT)*
On *Wednesday, 10/01/08, *7 PM, complainant reported he had a prostitute come to his residence in the *700 block of S. Washington Sq. *The following day the complainant discovered money that he had stuffed into the sofa was missing. Complainant was advised not to patronize prostitutes.

There’s just so much going on here: The wily recession chic of the stuff-it-in-your-mattress theory, the full ‘fess to the po-po that’s like, “YES, of course I had a whore over here!,” and the always-common-sensical police answer: Don’t call ho’s.
We don’t know who this man is, but we think we might love him.

hey what’s the philebrity style sheet say about gratituous apostrophe use? even the NYT, home of apostrophe overuse, doesn’t use one for derived forms like hos (if you’re worried you can make it hoes, which is clearer, or since it’s just a truncated r-deleting form of “whore”, just use that).

While we are always vigilant about apostrophe overuse, it is our feeling that “ho’s” is appropriate Philebrity style. Ho’s.
