When you make a public comment about one candidate, you inadvertently represent the other, and in doing so have a responsibilty to exercise a certain amount of integrity. This started when a local sports venue impressario wanted to go above and beyond his maxed out donation ability and give his ticket's darling a free photo op. This is not a debate, this is a media moment, and there's nothing wrong with "the other side" creating a more interesting counterpoint to the manufactured story the media would have to otherwise run with.Maybe if you had heard of ACT UP's history as accomplished activists, you'd "get it." Sarah Palin does a fine job making a fool of herself on her own. Don't take the spotlight off that. We always do this. The moment we get an inch ahead we look like a bunch of vultures picking at the carcas. As much as I disagree with Republicans, they sure know when to step aside and let us destroy ourselves. You don't beat the other team by setting its field on fire, and you don't win elections by silencing your opponent's voice. This is nothing but an exercise in poor sportsmanship. Politics are about debate and disagreement and nothing is gained by throwing an organized temper tantrum just because you disagree with someone. We're supposed to be the party of intellects.
