Does The Entire World Think That Drexel Kids Are Stupid?
You’d be forgiven for thinking, yeah, maybe. That’s been some of the strange fallout of the Drexel University voter intimidation story that has been whistling around the media this week. But we swear, it’s just not so. Drexel kids may be at the mercy of America’s ugliest campus, but in our experience, they’re bright, on time, and oh-so-lovably nerdy. What hasn’t been said much in all of this, though, is how unassuming and clever the article of voter intimidation in question really was. As the story got some more legs yesterday, Committee of Seventy mouthpiece/eternal Philebrity mancrush Zach Stalberg went on Fresh Air and deconstructed the flyer and said pretty much what we’re saying: As voter intimidation goes, this one is a subtle Merlot. Also distressing is that, even with the election being weeks out, this is already going on. (Traditionally, voter intimidation antics ramp up on the day-before or day-of.) So let this be a lesson to us all: No one can stop you from voting, and we swear, the Parking Authority will not be at your polling place waiting for you. And Drexel kids are not — we repeat NOT — stupid. (Although a lot of them do kind of need to go on What Not To Wear.) After the jump, see for yourself, as we post the fake flyer that went around.

Why I’m a Drexel graduate and I was on What Not To Wear.
