At the Bruce event, and the MidTown Festival, I saw more than a dozen people in their 30s and 40s registering to vote. Damn my own sister said to me the other day she wasn’t smart enough to vote on political issues. Then went on to complain about a neighbor not having health insurance.

Relax, it’s Philly. Even the dead vote here.
When I was 18, I tried to register as a Republican. I filled out the form and when my voters registration card was sent to me, magically I had been registered Democrat. Twice more I tried and each time I remained a Democrat. a move to the burbs removed that little stigma in a country minute.
I worked in a business with deep ties to local politics. My boss, a little Italian from “downtown” never showed up for work on election day. He later told me he was a “voting machine mechanic” then he laughed. He asked me how I voted and laughed again and said “no ya didn’t”
