Futurecar Arrives!
Thou shalt covet thy neighbor’s car. From tomorrow through October 16, train geeks and suburbanites alike can check out the Silverliner V at 30th Street Station. Cruel tease public ceremony tomorrow at noon. Unfortunately, they won’t be in service until 2009, but the cars can help us imagine our glorious future, where everyone has health insurance, Regional Rail runs on time and is powered by the wind, and cuddle parties have reduced Philadelphia crime down to nothing but attempted hugging without permission.
Broad Street Line riders, you get to keep rocking it retro. The BSL is living history! Come to think of it, can’t GPTMC cough up some cash to pay historical interpreters to share what the Philly subway was like in the 1970s? You know that would attract those European tourists and their safe haven currency.
