barack HUSSEIN obama: just another bum looking for change. and if you vote for him change is all you’ll have left in your pocket. keep the raghead communist out of the white house. NOBAMA!

From Hello Darkness My Old Friend, 2008/09/30 at 12:07 AM

It is??? Then how come it feels so goddamn right? Because here’s the thinking: Since these people have finally discovered us, yes, there’s been some lively debate. But it only goes so far, and then you get shit like the comment posted above. Are we to idly stand by and let these fucking mouthbreathers rape and pillage our site like it’s philly.com? Well, that just doesn’t seem like The Philebrity Way. And there’s no better way to expose a jerk like this than to throw the lights on. Because, somewhere, somebody knows these people. And if the Internet is about transparency in reporting, shouldn’t it also be about transparency in commenting? With that in mind, everybody, this is Michael Tabor. Here’s his MySpace page. That webjunk picture of the fat kid at right? Yeah, that’s his profile picture. Michael also keeps up with today’s popular culture, loving bands such as (I shit you not) Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and movies like Swingers. Oh, and also? HE LIVES IN BOSTON. Michael, you’ll also like to know, is a fucking loser who went to three, count’em, three dogshit colleges (all in Mass) before he could finally graduate. It took him eight years to get a BA. So, obviously, he’s somebody you should be listening to about politics, seeing as he is so grounded and serious and in-the-now. Is he welcome on Philebrity, though? Fuck no. Because remember: Commenting on Philebrity is a privilege and not a right. Learn it. Love it. Live it.

  1. ecortes Says:

ouch & haha. That’s why ppl need to realize once you comment or blog something, it’s out there for EVERYONE to see and people can find out who you are.

    haha I’m still laughing.

  2. C. The Impaler Says:

Philebrity is a place to go when you have aborted all online life elsewhere?

I would have run with his “pissing in the street” or the Matt Foley costume.

Seriously, just thinking out loud, if you’re really bugged by the Nobama crowd, or whatever else is griping you, why not set up a “philebrity profile community” where your profile with stable e-mail can be lodged … sorta like what phillyblog does. It won’t stop them from posting, I suppose, but it’ll make little humiliation counter punches like these a bit less … I don’t know why I’m typing this net ethics shit, this was funny.

Still think it would have been more fun if the site went to war with St. Louis.

  3. tips Says:

Cheese, I like where you’re going with this. Let me ask some people who would know how we’d set this up. And also, if it means that much to you, sure: LET’S FUCK ST. LOUIS UP!

  4. C. The Impaler Says:

Yeah, seriously, I think you can argue that Philebrity is a “taste community” or whatever the call them these days, and this way folks may have to have their “application profile” processed before jumping in hot with a NOBAMA cut n’ paste. Took me 3 months before I got on hulu’s beta and I was cool with that. I think someone who really wants to participate on philebrity and not just drop a deuce from Boston or wherever wouldn’t mind a 24 hr. waiting period before being let in the door.

That’s not what phillyblog does … I thought YPP did, but based on some of the posters who show up out of nowhere, I don’t know if they actually screen.

  5. sarahbelle Says:

As a Philly girl who played the part of a St. Louisan for four years (went to college there and, unlike our friend Tabor, graduated on time!), I can tell you: That city is hard to fuck with.

When the Cards were in the series in ‘04, someone dressed up their beloved statue of Stan Musial in Red Sox gear, and they CHUCKLED (it’s all “in good fun,” said a fan quoted in the Post-Dispatch).

Midwesterners are just so *nice*, it’s damn near impossible to get under their skin… But I’ll help wage the war, if ya’ll wanna try!

  6. jonasher Says:

Furthermore, what kind of asshole still has a yahoo email account?

  7. cummins Says:

    Whoa. This is utterly brilliant.

  9. A Feculent Rainbow Says:

Can you guys either 1) actually research the term, “neoconservative” - or 2) stop throwing it around when you actually mean, “freeper-grade-knee-jerk-conserative-retard.”

    Thanks.

That being said, don’t feed the trolls. Election season will be over soon and then 99.5% of the public will stop pretending that they know jack shit about American politics.

    Go Nader,
    Chris

  10. Walter Sobchak Says:

    Heroes:
My Parents, My Grandfather who was a paratrooper in WWII, Every American soldeir who fought for my country and my freedom, Frank Sinatra, Babe Ruth, Hugh Heffner

Random capitalization drives me up the wall.

  11. jburnside Says:

so, will you also post the email & IP addy of rabid Obama supporters? Of course not. It is your goal to make your site a one sided dictatorship that does not tolerate dissent.

How about practicing what you say you want in a government. The left wants to jam the Fairness Doctrine down the throats of talk radio. Why don’t you follow the same guidelines and allow diverse opinions here?

The answer is simple. The fairness Doctrine is not about opening up talk radio to another opinion. It’s about suppressing thought.

That is the very reason you want to drive off McCain supporters. Thought suppression.

This is just one on the many reasons I reject the Obama candidacy. It is built on a platform of dis-information and deceit.

I can’t wait to read your left wing bleating in November when the entire Country weighs in on this matter.

For the good of America, I must continue to say

    NObama in 2008.

  12. tips Says:

@feculent: Good point. It’s an awkward piece of shorthand we’re using, and “freeper-grade-knee-jerk-conserative-retard” is much better.

@burnside: Suck it, bitch. You’re lucky to be here.

  13. enrico Says:

Tips says “@burnside: Suck it, bitch. You’re lucky to be here.”

Ah, Tips proves himself to be a benevolent dictator but one who wants “puppets with benefits” ;)

  15. tips Says:

Management has the right to refuse service.

  16. C. The Impaler Says:

burnside, are you saying “raghead” is an acceptable epithet when discussing Obama? Is it ever? Or do you even bother to read what you’re defending?

  17. jonasher Says:

I agree with burnside blogs are guaranteed in the 28th amendment to be non-partisan.

You stupid jerks and your stupid liberal media.

  18. jburnside Says:

C The Impaler says “burnside, are you saying “raghead” is an acceptable epithet when discussing Obama? Is it ever? Or do you even bother to read what you’re defending?”

I don’t even read half of what is written here, and I am not defending that dingbat. I am only addressing Tips dictatorial comments toward me. I am not a right wing conservative but am holding my nose and voting Republican because I dread the alternative.

    your pal, burnside

  19. bhanahan Says:

Oh my gah I love it. No one, no matter what side they’re on politically, should be as ignorant as that.

He’s not sharing his political opinion, burnside, he’s spreading hate. Philebrity didn’t call him out because he’s right wing, they called him out because he’s an ignorant asshole. And you’re a moron for even trying to defend him.

Mad props, Philebs. I Digged ya.

  20. C. The Impaler Says:

burnie, if you don’t like philebs attitude toward you, why are you here? You clearly don’t like the city of Philadelphia even though you’re forced to come here via armored car or whatever. Do you actually think you’re standing up for liberty on what’s basically a local gossip blog? Your world must be so small. Seriously, you’re not making a point, you’re acting like a guy who goes to a bar, hates it and the people. Says so, they tell him to ‘ef off, and so the guy keeps coming back for the same routine. Actually, I’ve never met a guy a like that, till you started showing up.

To remind you of the main point again, why are you here?

  21. jburnside Says:

    C. The Imploder says…”To remind you of the main point again, why are you here?”

To prove time & time again that you have sand in your mangina

  22. cb Says:

honestly it’s refreshing to not read the same old chorus of “first!” and echo-chamber shit that happens on so many blogs. If Joey started firing all pro-McCain supporters, that would be lame. But shit comments like the above are just tiring.

I saw a bunch of protesters in West Chester this past weekend. One side of the street was anti-war. The other was pro-war (?) and pro-McCain, but one dude had an “Osama Obama” sign and he totally discredited all the others.

  23. BDeluxe Says:

i truly love this post. also love the word ‘asshat.’

but seriously these non-philadelphian hate-commenters (or just the ignorant ones) are pretty sad. you don’t see me going to local sites for like Lexington, KY or Savannah, GA to spread my Obama-love and put down McPalin, do you? (no.)
    go find something to do.

  24. oh.ok. Says:

I love how righteous these idiots are.

Burnside and Asshat, listen here see:

This is a BLOG. A blog is a POINT OF VIEW of the person posting/writing for it and has no requirement to show two sides in some fair, objective setting.

Blogs are understood by intelligent people to be opinion based, a true exercise of the first amendment, something you lesser species seem to abhhor. It’s not necessarily following the guidelines of your “regular ole media”, which is why people search them out… for a different point of view.

What’s hilarious is your precious Fox News and 700 Club crap that you adhere by is the dream cream of uneducated spouting of one sided point of views of carefully edited, non-factual information. You simply respect it because it only says what you want it to. And that is the “regular ole media” which is for shame, not a BLOG.

Anyway, get lost assholes. You won’t be changing any minds, that’s not what this place is about. Keep on jerking off in your mothers’ basements with your rascist fantasies, keep on thinking un-critically. Just don’t expect it to be taken seriously here.

  25. annie Says:

How is it that I’m the first person here to say the obvious: Massssssssssssshole.

  26. Walter Sobchak Says:

jburnside, you’re free to go make your own site if you want. No one’s stopping you.

  27. buddy Says:

    i love philebrity…and hate republicans.

  28. holaolah Says:

It’s fun, it’s easy, and it really, really works!

  32. cod.peace Says:

@C. the Impaler: “Still think it would have been more fun if the site went to war with St. Louis.”

St. Louis? Sorry bub, I don’t think Phillie is ready for the big leagues. Stick with cities that punch below their weight, like Freeport, Maine.

  33. Pen Name Says:

    Yo Burnside,

I think you’re a whole lot of awesome.

“Mangina.” Now that’s my kind of douchebaggery.
    Gangbusters.

    Tucker Max
