Which Irish Pub? The one around Rittenhouse or the one off 12th? You’d think the one just a block N. of Planned Parenthood would be the non-starter, but it’s also so close to the Walnut St. Theater and hey! they’re showing State Fair and that’s the sort of culture Palin can get behind.

Seriously, I think this attempt to come off in the national media of Palin being “down with the common people” by playing off Irish stereotypes (and an audience ignorant of Center City demographics) will be scrubbed as soon as her handler gets wind of protest plans and she’ll end up hiding out in the Union League.

Looks like she is already practicing the VP’s “undisclosed location” maneuver according to the Fox article.

I suspect this will be an invitation only type event, or an RSVP kind of thing. High profile Philly and suburban R’s all insisting upon driving their ginormous SUVs into town and parking 2 feet off the curb will abound. I know, I witnessed this in Media this week. A sea of red-donned a-holes speeding up and down our streets, parking on curbs, parking on corners, in general just annnoying me with their presence.

I wonder if Pat Burrell will show up. That seems to be one of his favorite haunts.

re: Irish Pub

last time I was there, the bartender sorta threw the pint of lager in my direction spilling about 1/4 of it. I quietly cleaned up the mess then just sorta flung my coaster to an empty section (the glass wall leading to the main dining room).

that’s when they kicked me out and told me to never to show there again. Yeah, no problem.

And this was early on a Sunday when they were empty.

Btw, I was very hungover and definitely needed a full pint.
