Captain Freeshit: Win Tickets To See Cut Copy At The Troc!

Remember a month or so ago when I was talking about how we must kill the Making Time musical microgenre so that we can save Making Time? Well, a few things about that: 1.) Though I can offer you no proof whatsoever of it, I believe that progress is being made on this front. I just believe it. 2.) When all is said and done, when Making Time’s robot guts are pulled out and they start rebuilding the silver beast, if they do it right, they’ll spend a few weeks isolating the Cut Copy musical DNA and using that as the ground up from which the soul of the new machine is built. Equal parts New Order, zero irony, Scandanavian indie rock, perhaps a dash of Phoenix, and yeah, this band is pretty much everything The Presets are not. Which is funny, because The Presets are opening for Cut Copy tomorrow night at the The Trocadero. And we want you to parse these very academic post-danse rock points with us. (This kind of thing is never fun alone.) So to enter to win, send an email to ihopeiwin[at]philebrity[dot]com with “IN GHOST COLOURS” in the subject header. We’ll pick winners tomorrow morning, and lo, it will be fun.

We haven’t had a Making Time in quite a while, and this is probably why…
Also, I quite adore Dave and Adam, but Dave hasn’t had the best luck lately getting his “guests” to actually show up (or when they do show up, play)…I hope things will shoot back full force instead of sputtering out like a bad coke drip. Philly needs you Dave, please come back…
If Juan MacLean doesn’t play Snacks on Tues imma burn the club down. HOT.
