Puzzle Pieces Appear Around Town
So, we got an e-mail from a reader who claims he’s run into some interesting found art around town recently.
“Hey Philebrity, I’ve been seeing these puzzle pieces around Philly, two last week and one today, and I went to the site at one-one-one.net and it redirected to a flickr pool with the directions to “Shoot. Upload. Solve.” Have you guys seen this? I thought I should let you know. I think the point is to build the puzzle in it’s entirety, but I didn’t have my camera with me to contribute. I think it’s a pretty great game the city can play!”
We held a staff meeting to discuss this and decided to visit the site. Turns out it’s all true. There is a whopping one file uploaded so far, put there on Saturday. Either this is some new ridiculous viral marketing campaign and we’ve been suckered into somebody’s marketing game (we’re looking at you, J.J. Abrams) or someone around town has a ton of time to kill. Any readers out there find some of these?

there’s one on the South Street bridge, on a huge metal plate in the sidewalk. it’s hard to tell what the picture is on it…

Stealth marketing so stealth that they have to email you to call your attention to it? FAIL. Thanks for the laugh, though.
