Advance Warning: Next Tuesday, Fall In Love With Us
So, for the last two years or so, we’ve been utterly obsessed with the Glasgow, Scotland band Glasvegas. Over that time, every month or two they’d post a new demo on their MySpace page, and we’d snap it up as quick as possible, with every new track revealing a different facet of their Phil Spector/Jesus And Mary Chain/doo-wop/Arab Strap-ish soundshape. Well, last week, the debut Glasvegas album came out (click here for iTunes link), with most of those tracks we first heard on MySpace being fleshed out and now even larger sounding than before. Make no mistake: We are gaga about this band. We’ve written them fan mail. And we’re so stoked to see them next Tuesday, September 30th at the North Star Bar. The Cobbs open up and DJ Joey Sweeney spins before and after. We hope you’ll come, or at the very least, check out Glasvegas. Stay tuned for more info and ticket giveaways.
