What She Does: Has worked for the The Starr crafting wine lists for Striped Bass, Parc, Buddakan and Morimoto. Director of Wine Studies at the French Culinary Institute. Co- “Wrote” a book with the brewmaster of Dogfish Head Brewery called He Said Beer, She Said Wine. Drives a Vespa and wears baseball caps.
Hated On For: Hypocrisy, wearing really silly outfits on her website, backhanded compliments, calling herself “Philadelphia’s Sommelier.”
Loved By: Readers of Philadelphia Magazine, Main-liner ‘Housewives’, Stephen Starr, Keith Wallace.
Over/Under: 2 years. Her recent public bashfest brought out the mean in people, and exposed the Phillyfoodscene’s true feelings towards Ms. Old. Look for her to be a spokesperson for the new “Wine Kiosks”in last ditch attempt to keep “the region’s highest profile beverage expert” in the limelight just a little longer.
