Amazing And Strange And Probably True Rumor Of The Day: Grateful Dead To Reunite At Obama Benefit In Philly On October 13th

But, but, but… what about Jerry? No matter. The surviving members of the Dead — that would be Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart — just announced that they would indeed be reuniting on 10/13 at a city and venue TBA to raise dough for none other than Barry Hussein hisself. Just imagine the vibe at this show. Like whoa. Anyshrooms, we poked around and it looks like it’s real, with many grumblings of “Unconfirmed!” which in the concert biz is basically code for “Don’t bogart my press rollout, maaaaan!” We’ll be on this one as it develops…

The post on The Dead board doesn’t seem to exist anymore, at least the link PhillyEdge reports just takes me to a list of old news (B’more symphony and the like). Wikipedia mentions the rumor, linking to the Fox News, of all places, equivalent of Icepack from Aug 29:

“possibly either in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh”

Oct 13′s one week after the voting registration deadline in PA. Reminds me of Eminem’s “Mosh,” if only he had done SNL and the single a month earlier….

Sadly, this will go down in State College (Bryce Jordan Center).

The Dead, Allman Brothers Band, and another band TBD.
