PhillyFuture.org: Aggregating The Aggregators Since 1999
AS TOLD BY KARL MARTINO, FOUNDER: Philly Future was one of the first regionally focused blogs that tried to share what people were talking about online, while trying to highlight the best, most interesting bloggers out of the Philly area. And it’s done as a labor of love for the city.
We launched way back in December of 1999, here is a link in archive.org (not indexed for a few months it looks like). While we did shut down for a couple years due to personal issues I was dealing with, I have tried to bring it back with a varying level of success these past few years.
I admit it has never been all that it could be - saying something is a “labor of love” is just a fancy way of indicating it is a demanding hobby. And these days, its use as a starting point to discovering the Philadelphia blogosphere is no longer needed as much (you, along with others, do a great job at that role now), but I hope that Philly Future has helped bloggers connect with one another in our area, and by doing so, provided a service to the region.
