Musical Rumblings: The Pro-Lif Movement

>>> Pretty much the only presidential election coverage we’re looking forward to over the next few months will come courtesy of Mr. Lif (pictured), the indie hip-hop artist Philly shares with Boston. In one of the most dedicated political moves we’ve ever seen in the hip-hop world, Lif will write and release 1-2 songs every three weeks until Election Day, prefacing the release of his next album, I Heard It Today on Inauguration Day (January 20, 2009). The first one is up on his MySpace now. [MySpace]
>>> Easton, PA, indie rockers Settle: Never heard of ‘em! But that won’t matter soon, because they just got signed to Epitaph, and will soon be on the lips of people much, much younger than you. Look for their debut produced by Philly expat (Adam Lasus) soon. [MySpace]
>>> And we’re definitely looking forward to checking out Watery Love soon, featuring Meg Baird from Espers (on drums!) and Max Milgrim and Richie Charles from Violent Students. They play the Philadelphia Record Exchange on Sunday at 8pm with the infamous Boogie Witch.
