Phashionista: Stores To Adore

· I’ve been staring at the Philly edition of Store Adore for the last 15 minutes, and I’m still kind of unsure what exactly this site’s purpose is. Is like a Yelp for retail? Sorta. Can I buy things through it? I don’t think so. If I’m staring at its Philly landing page long enough to write this and still cannot justify its existence, well, that is just too long. Sorry, StoreAdore, I have no use for you. Still, others may: There’s a good roundup of Philly boutique shopping here, but nothing you couldn’t get from a jazillion other sites or, say, browsing the Phashionista archives, which I wholeheartedly suggest you do. · File under Pressers We Should Have Gone To: Ikea in South Philly had a new-stuff demo and free Swedish meatballs thing to celebrate the launch of their new catalog last week, but we couldn’t go because we were too busy Photoshopping the head of Michael Nutter onto the body Matthew McConaghey or something. Crud. The inner promosexual weeps, but you shouldn’t. The catalog is probably already in your mailbox; if not, click that link and enjoy your dashed hopes for actual Herman Miller furniture for one more year and stock up on votive candles. [Ikea]
· And lastly, a sale; you love sales. Nicole Rae Styer is doing 15% off for today only. Check out her online store, and if you need more time to debate your purchase, catch her wares at Headhouse Square on August 22. [Etsy]
