Purples Rise Out Of The Teeths’ Ashes
We were pretty bummed when Philly’s own The Teeth called it quits last April, and discovering the news in a MySpace blog made the breakup even more disheartening. Having just played SXSW, it looked like the band was the latest Park The Van property to become critical darlings, but it wasn’t meant to be. Well, it appears that the members of The Teeth are back, but now as Purples. Still full of aggressive pop tunes with titles like “frightening phone calls” and “haunting me,” we’re guessing these guys still have some bite left in them. (Check ‘em out at their first practice in the video at right.) Here’s to another breakout Philly band – and give us a ring next time you think about calling it quits. We’d like to hear it from you first.
