Brianna Update®: Further Proof That In 2008, “Getting Signed” Means Nothing
We’re gonna go ahead and guess that Brianna Taylor, the suburban Philly chick of no clearly discernible race who thrilled our schadenfreude-heart in Real World XX, does not play guitar. We’ll even go one further and say that there’s probably not even a guitar in that case in the picture at right, but the point is, it’s all no matter now: RWXX ended last week in an utterly boring display of friendship, and it’s all our girl can do to work it. Because save for some Real World/Road Rules challenges and maybe a spot on I Love Money, this is it. And so it has come to pass that Brianna has signed with Chamberlain Records, a label oddly specializing in anonymous emo-junk. Hence the guitar, which we’re guessing will finally be out of the case by August 10, when she returns home to play the Tin Angel. You can hear some of the unfocused, frankly kind of sad tracks from Brianna’s debut EP on her MySpace; think of her as Shania Twain with a stripper’s heart of gold and a corporate emo backing. And then? Don’t think of her at all.
