Neighbourhood Watch: All This Scratchin’ Is Making Me (R)i(t)ch
NORTHERN LIBERTIES: Ed Rendell handed out some dollars earlier this week to help companies in five counties expand their territory. The largest facility to receive a loan is the Philadelphia company Pearl Pressman Liberty Communications Group Inc. The graphic arts company will be receiving a $108,000 loan to renovate an existing building for their new headquarters. The current headquarters is located at 912 N. Fifth St. [EveryBlock]
FAIRMOUNT PARK: Speaking of renovation, Fairmount Park is receiving $45 million to create a Centennial District in the park. The point of the renovation is to make Fairmount a primary tourist destination within Philadelphia. The various projects will restore some of the landmarks in the park. The projects are expected to take five years to complete. [DN]
