New Website Can Get You On Newsy-Old-Lady-Down-The-Street’s Level In A Matter Of Seconds
We have to admit, we were skeptical at best when someone sent us the link for EveryBlock Philadelphia — the Philly installment of a multi-city news and reviews aggregator — but we have to admit, this thing is useful and fun and probably too much information, but hey, welcome to 2008. Type in your street or neighborhood or zip, and EveryBlock will pull up a trove of info, from local police reports (it would seem that no neighborhood is safe from cell phone theft, so be careful out there, Philly) to reviews to real estate transactions and properties up for sale to, in one case, my mom’s across-the-street neighbor’s Flickr pics of his home renovations. HOW DOES IT KNOW ALL THIS STUFF? I don’t know, man, I don’t know. Tubes.
