Captain Freeshit: Win Tickets To The Kimmel Center’s Summer Solstice Celebration

Every year the Kimmel Center opens its door for an all-day and all-night celebration of the beginning of the summer, filled with a ton of performances that would never, ever occur at the Kimmel otherwise. This year they are starting the day with InLiquid’s Art for the Cash Poor outdoor art show and sale, with everything for sale under $200. Also, all you hipster mommies out there can lug the kids to the family dance party Baby Loves Disco (this might also be worth checking out for those of you who don’t want kids, there is no better form of birth control than hundreds of dancing and/or screaming kids). The line up also includes Peter Nero’s Philly Pops Festival Brass, the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, First Person Arts Story Slam, The Hydrogen Jukebox Circus Sideshow, Guitar Hero III competition, Bob & Barbara’s Drag Show, Johnny Goodtimes Quizzo tournament and, ahem, the annual drum circle at dawn as the sun rises over the Kimmel Center’s glass roof. And plenty, plenty more with lots of jazz, world music and dance peppered throughout. For a chance to get yourself tickets to this all-night-hippie-party all you have to do is send an email with the headline “I CAN AND WILL BEAT MY OWN DRUM” to ihopeiwin[at]philebrity[dot]com. Please be sure to include your name in the email and may the best drummer win.
