Phashionista Exclusive: Old City Getting Its Just Reward In August
We wondered a few months ago what was up with the then-mysterious Reward project, a new shop TBA headed up by longtime Urban Outfitter Shari Roulin. Well, now we know: See that shop at right? Used to be Big Jar Books (adieu, my sweet prince! we shall see you all at Brickbat!), but come mid- to late August, the same site will house the Reward boutique, and it’s already looking impressive:
Brands for Girls: Vanessa Bruno* (apparel), Tsumori Chisato*, (apparel), Karen Walker* (apparel & sunglasses), Lover* (apparel), Stephane Verdino* (handbags & footwear), Ksubi* (jeans), Opening Ceremony* (apparel and shoes), F Troupe (shoes) Henrik Vibskov* (apparel & accessories), Arielle DePinto (jewelry), Repetto (shoes & bags), vintage selections
Brands for Guys: Surface To Air (apparel & bags), Wood Wood* (apparel), Chronicles of Never (apparel), Spring Court* (french sneaker brand), Fremont (apparel), April ‘77* (denim & collection), Ksubi* (denim), YMC (apparel & shoes), Original Sins (t shirts), Jason Nevikov (t shirts), Comme Des Garcons parfums & wallets

Who are all those people, you ask? “Lines have been carefully selected to play off of each other – feminine vs. masculine, avant garde vs. basic essentials, color vs. neutrals, just to name a few,” says Roulin. “The selection is focused on talent from Paris, London, and Copenhagen, with up-and-comers from New York and LA as well. Though many of the labels are lesser-known in the mainstream they are often cornerstones of editorial in the pages of fashion mags from NYLON to Jalouse, and are usually extremely difficult to find outside of NYC or LA boutiques.” Meanwhile, says Roulin, the shop will also feature music and media selected monthly, as well as play host to music/art/fashion events regularly. One question, but, actually, it’s not a question: This is going to be awesome.
