Sex And The City Week Begins In Philadelphia With Looonng Groan/Death Rattle
Even having watched every last episode of this show, we can tell you with utmost certainty: We are fucking sick of the Sex And The City movie and it is making us want to die. Already. Why? Well, for the most obvious point, SATC lost its relevance a long time ago, and the we-hate-each-other-but-now-we-need-money hiccup between the end of the show’s run and now is desperate and craven in a way that Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Leather McMombags never were. And long after the party has been over, the Sex And The City industry remains — oh, hi, Jennifer — which, with its cosmotinis, “days of beauty,” and tired vibrator jokes could turn any gal butch, and fast. Worse still? The promo tie-ins between the SATC industry and the movie are now going on in every city in America, and Philly is no exception:
PHILADELPHIA – MAY 27, 2008—During the final week of May, DENIM Public Relations and MeMe2 Magazine present “Carrie’s Bridal Week Celebration”, a culmination of all efforts afforded at each Philadelphia hotspot – Remedy Tea Bar, Thread Beauty Bar, Echo Chic Boutique, Stiletto Shoes, Level Room Lounge, and Bamboo Lounge – this month during the “Sex and the City in Philadelphia” campaign.
“Carrie’s Bridal Week”, kicking off at Stiletto Tuesday, May 27 at 2 p.m., will set the stage for eager “Sex and the City” fans to gather and pose the question “Will she, or won’t she?” as they wonder if Carrie will indeed go through with her wedding and marry Mr. Big when the movie premieres May 30th. On Wednesday, join us at Remedy Tea Bar for “Carrie’s Bridal Tea” from 12 noon – 3pm followed by “Carrie’s Bridal Shower” at Thread Beauty Bar from 5pm – 7pm – where patrons can enjoy cocktails and giveaways. On Thursday, “Carrie’s Bachelorette Party” festivities begin at Echo Chic Boutique with cocktails, Me/Me2 Magazine give-a-ways and a shopping event to get spruced up for the night. At 6 pm, join us at Master Jay’s Seductive Dance Studio for more cocktails and seductive dance lessons in preparation to dance the night away at Level Room Lounge featuring “Sex and the City” inspired cocktails throughout the night.
Upon seeing “Sex and the City” in movie theaters, DENIM Public Relations and MeMe2 Magazine would like to invite all ‘Sex’ fans to Bamboo Lounge for “Sex and the City in Philadelphia’s Pink Event”.
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarf. Remedy Tea Bar, Thread Beauty Bar, Echo Chic Boutique, Stiletto Shoes, Level Room Lounge, and Bamboo Lounge, we are so, so disappointed. Shame on you.
Philly1: Will She Or Won’t She Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaarf?

I was actually only vaguely aware this movie was coming out this summer, and had no clue it was coming out Friday until this post. I was good with that. Thanks Philebs, for being the chink in my armor, and half-witting accomplice to the SATC PR machine.

Tonights the big premiere, I was confused when people asked me if I was going and how excited they were; I said of course I am shooting the red carpet, I’ll be sure to photograph you too. Yesterday I read in the paper about the one Nutter is hosting in Philly tonight, aah that’s not the one I will be shooting. Don’t expect Carrie or Miranda as they will be in NYC with me. And come on who didn’t watch the Brady Brides even though that was tired too(showing my age.)
