Nutline®: Is The Honeymoon Over?

Dude needs to be called out. I supported him, gave him money, yada, yada, yada, progressive, blah, blah, blah not corrupt. In the past week we have had another cop killed and a police brutality incident. I’m not bitter he didn’t back Barack, but I am bitter he backed Hillz. At least John Street has an Iphone to show for his obsession with the irrelevant, the only thing Nutter might get is a primary challenge.
That’s a reader writing in this morning. And while we’re still having a little trouble making the jump from A to B that says that Nutter is somehow responsible for both the horrific killing of Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski and the absolutely fucking stupid unrelated-but-not beatdown incident a few days later, it highlights something we’ve been thinking a lot lately: Dude can’t really please anybody these days. Much of the politically enlightened populace here is still all kinds of WTF over his frankly bizarre dog-and-pony-show backing of Hillary Clinton, but on the other hand, various sects of Good Old Fashioned Morons are mad as hell that he used Liczbinski’s death to highlight just how much the NRA is screwing this City royally, for sport.
And here, we’d like to address The Dude. Keep your chin up. While many may bristle at your media game over the last two months, what nobody wants to admit is that between the PA Primary and now the Cop Stuff, you’ve been busting your balls doing both maintenance and damage control for the City in the national eye, and you’re pretty much the only person who can do it. And yes, we’re still smarting a little bit from the Hillz thing, but history is already having its way with all of that; pretty soon, you’re gonna forget all about that ridonkulous lil’ bitch Chaka Fattah and you and Obama will shake hands and get psyched together like you should have been doing all along.
Another plus: Catching the third suspect in Liczbinski’s killing, like five minutes ago, not that YOU did that, but you and Ramsey made it a huge priority, even with the massive distraction of Possible Rodney King-Esque Fire To Put Out, Vol. MCMXXII going on at the same time. People will remember that kind of true-blue-ness, and don’t even pay any mind to some blogger tittering about how you looked this Floyd character square in the eye and voiced your disappointment in him on behalf of all black men. (Sorry, DMac, you’re out of your depth here. Post a fucking picture of a puppy and go sit in the corner for an hour.) What’s on the horizon? Probably more totally rough shit because Philly is a city that loves cycles. But every thorn has its rose, so congrats on getting the Spirit of Philadelphia Award this morning, so given for your “work in bringing renewed enthusiasm to the city.” Yeah, Dude, you earned that. Keep on keepin’ on.
Your pals,

Man I like this site but can you give the “I can’t believe Nutter did not support Obama and he’s supporting Hillary” thing a rest. Is Obama such an amazing candidate that anyone who does not support him is an idiot? When did Hillary Clinton become so unpalatable to the hipsters that run this site? You act like she’s Pat Buchanan or something. Any yes black people can decide to vote for whoever they want to not the person they look most alike.
Rendell supported Hillary, and even Jerry Mondesire is so he’s not alone in black leaders. In fact, 6 months ago all the black leaders supported Hillary so the fact that Nutter stuck with her shows character in my mind. Plus the fact that Obama foolishedly supported Fattah in the mayoral race when he couldn’t even find Philly on a map. And Nutter will support Obama if he’s the candidate so in the end who cares
