There was a time, in the not-too-distant past, when getting a job out at TV Guide in Radnor meant you were pretty much set for life. The mag was a staple, and like, c’mon, hey: People aren’t gonna stop watching network TV, right? And so long as the shows you liked were only on at one fixed point in time each week, people would NEED TV Guide, riiiight? We could do this all day. The point: TV Guide is about to go on the selling block, and one of its top brass has the cojones to think that someone will want to buy it as a print pub only while TVG’s present parent corp, Macrovision, retains the website, tvguide.com. Amazing. Nevertheless, TV Guide has its first profitable quarter in three years, but then again, laying off 100 people will do that. Ow.
