New Season Of This American Life Debuts With Strawberry Mansion Cowboys

We took a moment from the non-stop Kardashian loop here to take in the first episode of the second season of Showtime’s This American Life last night, and boy, were we surprised: Strawberry Mansion Cowboys lead off the episode! The segment is a great one, albeit a little short, but man did it ever do us proud. And yes, we know all about the gross stables, but recognize: The SMC’s might be some of the coolest dudes we have. We couldn’t find any video of it on the web yet — at right is the trailer for last week’s movie simulcast thing, which includes a few shots of our famous cowboys — so OnDemand that shit when you get home from work today. And while we know some die-hard This American Life radio show fans might still be bristling at the notion of the TV show, the entire episode was mind-blowing and nuts and as soon as we get through the episodes of Californication we somehow missed, we’re digging deep into season one of TAL. (PS. Related: Weeds is back for season four on June 16. Ditch HBO today. And no, Showtime is not paying us to say any of this. But seriously: Now that John Adams is over, you have no excuse.)
This American Life: Also, Ira Glass? Kind Of Cute!

And here I thought ‘John Adams’ was a reason to ditch HBO in the first place.

Showtime really has their shit together these days. Californication is a great fucking show too.
