Readers Fwd: NBC10 And FOX29 Decide To Pool Resources Starting On… Election Day
This was an email sent around NBC10 last night, and if you didn’t believe that news was not actually of import to The News, well, get a load of this:
As some of you already know, all this week we’re conducting an experiment with our colleagues at Fox 29. It’s a test to see if we can co-operate on some news gathering in the field. This cooperation would extend to events such as news conferences and other planned events that we’d both be covering anyway. We’ll also be experimenting this week with sharing our helicopter resources.
The mission here is simple - to find more efficient ways to gather the content we need for our newscasts, without compromising our respective competitive positions. This week we hope to sort out the process, logistics and technical aspects of making something like this work. It’s not unlike the pool arrangements that already exist at the network level.
I know many of you will have questions about this and you should feel free to reach out to me, [REDACTED], or [REDACTED].
Stay tuned. We’ll be filling you in on what comes of this week’s test.
Well, you can guess how this will go: It will go GREAT. With two brokedick news ops instead of one half-assing stories on the daily, there’ll be a lot more time and precious resources that can be devoted to fear-mongering, behind-the-curve lifestyle pieces and, uh, this. For anyone who’s ever wanted to, now is the time to applaud the final removal of the news from The News. Enjoy, and definitely tune in to Fox or NBC for Election Day coverage tonight.

More with less! More with less!
Seriously, whatever happened to “Pennjeff” of the Youtube invented “voter fraud” videos? Maybe they can contract him out for a syndication deal or something….
