Film Threat: Dancing And Beauty

RECOMMENDED: If you must go to the movies and sit inside in the dark when the weather is this fine, then only one movie is really worth the waste of a fine spring day. Planet B-Boy takes a look at breakdancing from its origins in New York to its current status as an international art form and follows dancers from around the world as they prepare for the “Battle of the Year” finals. Director Benson Lee’s first documentary, it is an amazing look at how street culture in NYC has spread internationally and created new sub-cultures.

ALSO NEW IN THEATERS: The First Saturday in May takes a look at the Kentucky Derby and how utterly insane it makes anyone involved in horse racing. Sneak in some mint juleps in a water bottle for a more true to life experience. Today is the day Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the new Judd Apatow comedy, is new in theaters, but they are advertising it so heavy, it is kind of like we’ve already seen all we need to see. Don’t you hate when that happens? Also check out My Blueberry Nights if only for the very beautiful cast including Norah Jones, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Chan Marshall, and Rachel Weisz. If nothing else, you won’t be bored of staring at all the pretty.
