Rumblings: The Better Bitter Biter’s Club
>>> Can you believe we actually got text messages during the debate last night that were like, “WHY AREN’T YOU LIVEBLOGGING THIS SHIT?” Um, we can give you a good answer right now: Liveblogs suck, especially when covering something so clusterfucky as last night’s debate, and every time you run one, you run the risk of winding up with something like this. Um, huzzah, dude. Huz-zzz-zah. Anyway, all agree: ‘Twas a shameful night in the world of journalism. But aren’t they all? [WillDo/HuffingtonPost]
>>> That said, Bunchy, if you don’t shut up, I’m going to smack you. [Attytood]
>>> But this shit was not without its comedy: Somebody let Chaka Fattah into the spin room. Which is kind of like throwing a dollop of vomit into The Gravitron. Somebody put a bag on this fucker’s head and just redirect me to bittervoters.org. [KYW/BitterVoters]
BONUS ROUND: But in some small way, progress was made: Daily News endorses Obama. Phew. Can we all agree, though, to NEVER DO THIS AGAIN? We can? Thank you. [DN]

i dunno - in this one instance, i agree with Bunchy… that first hour (especially) was a waste of time and showed just how desperate ABC News was to make sure THEY were part of the post-game coverage. Well, they got their wish - seems every blog/report i’ve read has panned those two fool moderators.

Oh, don’t get me wrong - you’re right, he’s absolutely right. It’s just the constant whine of Attytood that makes me crazy. Dude is the John Kerry of Philly blogs. Get my man a bleu cheesesteak.

Bunch nailed this one. I wanted to smash my television and march down to Independence Mall to protest ABC News after watching the first hour of that travesty.
It’s not often that the media can break through my cynicism and offend me, but that debate managed to do so. It was the most blatant insult to democracy that I’ve seen in some time. Journalism, schmournalism.
