Philly Hip Hop Summit Allows T.I. To Work Off Precious Community Service Hours And Have Russell Simmons Look At Him Like He’s Stupid Or Something
The Turn Up the Vote National Hip-Hop Summit is bringing the crunk to Temple University this year. April 20, just two days before the Pennsylvania primary election T.I. (lame), Russell Simmons (GODLIKE GENIUS), Ciara (Um…), Mike Jones (LOVE HIM!) , Flo-Rida (Uh…) will be inspiring students to vote by holding a panel that discusses this election’s top issues such as overcoming poverty, healthcare, education and the war in Iraq. Knowhumsayin’? Headlining the summit is Clifford Harris aka “King of the South” T.I., whom we’re guessing is especially excited to discuss the right to vote and why you should use it and not lose it. You see, T.I. lost the right to vote in 2004 after he violated probation relating to a drug bust way back in 1998. T.I. seems not to have learned that lesson very well, because in 2006 he was involved in a shoot-out in Cincinnati and just last year was charged with trying to buy a machine gun. His involvement in this “summit” is no doubt a great way for him to work off his community service AND build his fan-base at the same time. Have 20 years of hip-hop summits taught us NOTHING? (See video at right.) The event starts at 12:30 p.m. and tickets are FREE and available for download.YEEEAAAAH!
