Twigga Please: Philly To Lose Second Giraffe In As Many Weeks
What’s worse than the Philadelphia Zoo having to put down Puzzles the giraffe? How about them planning to put down Puzzles’ surviving pal, Twigga. After Puzzles’ passing two weeks ago the zoo was left with Twigga, a 28 year old giraffe and Stella, a 7 year old hybrid. Zoo workers are still shook up over Puzzles’ death and the anticipated loss of Twigga so soon after Puzzles’ death is simply heartbreaking to imagine. Twigga’s failing health has lead zoo keepers to plan on acquiring another giraffe in the future so that Stella will not have to wander the African Plains habitat all by her lonely self.
