Yesterday, when our site was down, we too got a peep at the Larry Kane/Obama Campaign email that everyone is posting about. We were non-plussed, not just because it wasn’t the bonkers gaffe that its sender had promised — it was just good ol’ Larry, who, yes, is a bit out of touch, but walk a mile in his shoes, fuckers — but also because the posts it inspired were perfectly emblematic of the tee-hee cut-and-paste blogging that is making this town’s online scene the Mad TV of the East Coast. We went over the email a few more times, looking for the funny and guess what? It still wasn’t there. Just Larry, trying to get some facts updated and an interview with Barry Hussein for his teevee show. Even when we put the email through a Jive Translator, which is truly always the Internet’s last stop for humor, the results were meh:
