What, you thought he would go quietly into the dustbin of Philadelphia history? Nah, whether you like it or not — or even whether he likes it or not — the local media just can’t get enough John Street, especially now that he’s donned those dapper professorial robes at Temple.

Everyone’s getting in on the action:
• Inky’s blog Heard In The Hall cited Street’s syllabus and a pleased student who also happened to document the class for Temple News.
• Metro did a short but lively Q&A with him Tuesday.
• PW dissected the career change and a guest lecture.
• And most memorably, CP has been sneaking in actual quotes from Street’s class. Except, of course, when he’s off for Spring Break. It’s chock full of patented John Street Life Lessons such as “If you don’t know what you want to do, go to law school. If you go to law school, people will assume you’re smart.”

Likewise, if you don’t know what you want to do after retiring from public office, teach a college class. If you teach a college class, people will assume you’re smart.
