Rumblings: And Now, The Bad News

95>>> Philebrity’s deepest condolonces go out to the friends, family and co-workers of Sean Conroy, the man beaten to death on the 13th Street el platform yesterday afternoon. This was a savage crime that frankly gave us chills, and there’s not a lot that we can say about it other than wishing that Philadelphia, as a city, could once and for all, learn to parent its children a little better. Something tells us this never would have happened otherwise. [KYW]
>>> The Kenny Gamble-inspired pissing match between U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) finally goes before a judge today. It’s almost impossible to see this panning out without even more poor people getting screwed. [Inky]
>>> Snuck into a story about the replacement of the wayward I-95 column (pictured): “I-95 is scheduled to undergo a complete reconstruction starting in about five years, said a PennDoT spokesperson.” Owie. [MyFoxPhilly]

“beaten to death”? gave you the chills? I read “Police say he had no visible injuries” and nothing that explained what really happened except he had a heart attack during an argument with 4 asshole teenagers.
it’s a god damn shame that man died, but come on, your post really got me prepared to read some fucked up shit. let’s turn down the fear mongering, shall we?

Beating or not. This supports my fear of teenagers.
