New Gun Laws Coming To Town?

gunz Ladies and gentlemen, Nutter’s next hat trick: Getting tougher gun laws for Philly, regardless of resistance at the state level. To wit, a City Council committee today gave a thumbs up to NINE NEW GUN LAWS without so much as casting a glance towards H-Burg. (They’re suing them over it all anyway.) Final passage should come next week, and Nutter looks like he’ll sign off on the laws and see them enforced whether those NRA-bought fatcats on Capitol Hill like it or not. Or so goes the folk legend of Fearless Mayor Michael Nutter. Stay tuned for the next chapter.

’cause killing isn’t illegal enough already.

  2. gr Says:

This is weird timing, since the SCOTUS is going to rule against any such thing (based on the DC) law later this summer. Do Nutter et al really expect that ruling will be narrow enough that these laws will stand? That’s a bit silly.

  3. Hiphopopotamus Says:

good intentions by his dudeness, but most likely a waste of time and money when all 9 laws are eventually struck down by the pa courts like so many bowling pins.
