Francophile tendencies are, sadly, at an all-time low, even with their awesome new president and all, plus, men’s fashion seems to deadlocked in an awful, risk-free zone where men are taught just to keep their heads down for fear of being targeted for existing anywhere outside of the Dockers hegemony. This is just one of the things about The Raveonettes that speaks to just how brilliantly out of time this Danish duo is. Phil Spector-y, Jesus & Mary Chain-y, ghost of Warhol-y, there is a kind of new classicism about them.
