SXSW Dispatch: Oh, So That’s Where Everyone In Philly Was This Weekend

SPECIAL TO PHILEBRITY FROM 51:51: Holla! It’s di1 from 5151 checking in from South by Southwest. It’s been a blur so far with so many artists that it’s a bit overwhelming. Right now, I’m chilling at the Indie Village on the tradeshow floor representing Flamin Hotz records. I’ve been live blogging and twittering the events all along. Got in on Wednesday and met up with Emynd and Bo Bliz to see Cosmo Baker and DJ Eleven, Scottie B and more. Thursday was the Obey party early with Diplo headlining. Sadly, I missed out on the house party with the dipper, A-Trak and Simian Mobile Disco djing. Friday was the Mad Decent / IHeartComix party with Santogold and Spank Rock early. From there I was off to the 5 6 Media / 215 Magazine party at the Beauty Bar. Lee Mayjahs was spinning when I walked in. Nouveau Riche put on an amazing show with lots of Philly love. Stayed around long enough to see some of Chuck Treece and King Britt. Back to the Mad Decent jawn, party is shut down but I’m able to get in, to see Amanda Blank with a guest appearance from Spank Rock then Diplo, Drop the Lime and Jokers of the Scene til 2. Off to the blender afterparty for A-Trak, Diplo and Blaqstarr. Today is just about to begin with performances from Santogold, Spank Rock and 2 Live Crew at the Fader fort, Ice Cube at the Auditorium on the lake, Fools Gold with A-Trak, Kid Sis, Kid Cudi and most importantly the Flamin Hotz showcase with Scottie B, White T’s White Belts, Todosantos, Curtis Vodka and Bird Peterson. I think I’m going need a vacation after all of this hard work. Follow along with all of my SXSW 2008 coverage here.
