Neighbourhood Watch: Old City Tool Library Shockingly Not Yet In Existence
WEST PHILLY: Truth is stranger than fiction: The West Philly Tool Library is NOT a new name for Cavanaugh’s or MadMex, but is actually a lending library for… tools! Like, you know, wrenches and shit! Amazing! I wonder if they have that hot nail gun Snoop used on The Wire. We got some vacants we need to fill. [WPTL]
OLD CITY: So, look out for falling shit: Pieces of the Ben Franklin Bridge rails are raining down in hordes on the unsuspecting citizens and motor vehicles on 2nd Street. Maybe bridge inspectors are dropping the ball because they need more tools and maybe they need to visit the West Philly Tool Library to get more tools to fix the bridge HAHAHA LOL JK! [Inky]
GERMANTOWN: Look out, it’s the Graffiti Monster: Germantown is once again being plagued by exorbitant amounts of graffiti, though town officials are quick to note (many, many times) that the graffiti is not as bad as it was in the 1980’s. The way they describe it, Germantown in the 80’s was a post-apocalyptic, graffiti-gang run, Mad Max-esque hellhole.
SOUTH PHILLY: In the further splintering of SoPhi, allow us to introduce you to… NewBold West? Or maybe OldBold? Or, uh, West Passyunk Point? It’s exhausting to even think about. [PhillyBlog]

“PATCO President and DRPA C.E.O. John J. Matheussen said the metal pieces make up a clamp that holds the rail line to the wooden railroad ties.
“We’re concerned about the safety of pedestrians or vehicles passing underneath the bridge,” Matheussen said.”
Right, but not at all concerned about the passengers on a PATCO train that gets derailed when its track comes of the ties…
