Wire Update: Bunk And Homeless Business Card Guy To Roll Phillystyle This Week

wire flyerHopefully, by now you have recovered from the news that Bunk and Nutter are watching the season finale of The Wire at City Hall an hour early on Sunday night, and you are all invited. We know, we know; we wet our blogpants, too. But that’s not nearly all the Wire-related fun this week: Tomorrow night at the Shubin Theater, local sketch comedy group Bedtime Stories are presenting “Way Down in the Hole: A Tribute to The Wire,” which is also a benefit for Project HOME. Lined up to appear? Among others, the Secret Pants sketch comedy troupe, and in the spirit of the project, also the homeless guy from The Wire who collects business cards. Tickets are only five bucks, and it’s sure to sell out, so buy advance tickets now at phillyimprovtheater.com. And because we must always make this distinction, please note that tomorrow night’s event is SKETCH comedy and not improv. We would not send you to see improv comedy. We love you too much.
Lastly, we’re trying to find out where else people can watch Sunday night’s series finale. If you know of a bar or other public place that’s showing it, please let us know: We’ll totally put it in weekend picks. Happy Wire-ing.
