American Apparel Sinks Lower, Partners Up With Aerosoles, Red Bull, And CBS To Sponsor Local Fashion Show
We realize how American it is to have a dumpy Britney phase, but the Creme de la Creme fashion show at the Pyramid Club on March 8 is not the way to get clean. Especially when you’re letting this woman host the show. We’re talking about a former finalist on “The View,” a broadcaster who will probably never have a scandal that would clinch her spot as a regular character on Philebs. Designs, if you must know, are from AA, along with Freek Ugly, Vamp Boutique, Intity, K louise, Dirk Krieder, Fine Fashions, Chi&Chie, Retro Chic and Walish Gooshe. Please don’t research any of these, it’s not pretty. They claim to be using “professional models from the Tri-State area”, but we found this on Craigslist. We guess pro models have to pay the rent, too. Feel free to skip this and go to the Flower Show.
Update: We actually thought we were complimenting Russell based on how non-scandalous she is. We then actually tried to give her edge points, but y’all are right. She’s not a baby mama. We’re still not sure what she, or fashion, have to do with this show, since it’s clearly on some charity ish. If it makes you feel better, we’re wearing an American Apparel t-shirt right now to make up for it.

Can’t wait for the flower show–you should all go, too. It’s been a Philly tradition since the 1820’s. Besides, it isn’t just insipid tulips: they have some truly mind blowing plants. Rare orchids, carnivorous plants, and a ton of other oddities.

I buy American Apparel and so do many of the people I know. I haven’t heard much about these designers or this fashion show, but Vamp is one of my favorite boutiques. Me and my friends shop there all the time. It’s a shame how people have nothing else better to do than to put others down.

I guess you were too busy thinking about how to belittle this event that you forgot to mention that this “dumpy” fashion show is actually a fundraiser to benefit the Institute for the Study of Civic Values…which is an organization that works to educate and mentor underprivileged youth in Philadelphia. What work have you done to build up the Philadelphia community?

People work too hard to extinguish labels. Your stupidity is awesome. I don’t see how someone can review an event before it’s happened and denounce and defame it based upon half-ass research. I know everyone should have an opinion. But base your opinions on valid reasons. Don’t run around calling a BLACK, MARRIED career woman a “baby mama” and then link the title of this event with an incendiary phrase that took three seconds to google.(which by the way was not remotely humorous.) And as far as their advertising on craigslist.org; multi-million dollar companies place ads in their classified section, does that make them unprofessional? No. It’s a free ad space anyone takes advantage of. You really sound like your feelings may have been hurt somewhere down the line. Maybe you are a model that was not picked for this fashion show.*shurgs* I don’t know and I don’t really care. It’s all too convenient that you have the exact craigslist posting/link. There are other little tell-tale signs that is leading me to believe you are pouting about something. Instead of bad-mouthing the hard working designers involved in this show, you should have written a blog about being a sore loser. It really is fine to question whether or not this fashion show will be a good event to attend, but I am still stuck back on the fact of you calling the host a baby mama. I don’t understand why being a finalist on one of TV’s most watched morning shows would be a downplay. you gotta admit, that was an unsuccessful low-blow.

I love every designer mentioned in this blog, their clothes are worth seeing on a runway! and I will continue to shop in American Apparel, and Aerosole for shoes too! I think sometimes when all thats going on in the world today people never look at the good in anything anymore, this event from what I know because I am taking part in it is benefiting underprivileged youth, and a presenting a High fashion event that no one has accomplished in a while, in Philadelphia. If you ask me I say this persons just out to catch a deal like Perez Hilton, but by the looks of this horrible write up they not only didnt do their homework on this event, they also don’t know what “Creme De La Creme” means, and I know this show is The best of the best! VH1 please let this person know you don’t need another WHAT PEREZ SAYS CLONE!

Dearest Philebrity,
This poor excuse for a well written article is an atrocity . As well
stated in your “disclaimer”, you obviously do not report accurate
information and have not done any research regarding the designers involved in
the Creme de la Creme event.
“Nothing pretty to look at,” you say? I guarantee you have never looked
at my website or the 12 store locations which proudly carry my work. I
guess you enjoy downplaying the credibility of the very magazines you
host on your site, such as; PW(Philly Weekly Newspaper) and Philly
Style Magazine, both of which have featured my work.
It would seem that as an organization which earns money off of it’s
advertising, Philebrity would welcome local designers, in the hopes of
receiving funds for advertising space on your site. You sure did sabotage
yourselves on that one.Didn’t't you learn that rule in media/journalism
101? It appears your self absorbed, no namers of a staff are just
stroking each others ego’s. And who needs the free labor? I see “interns
wanted” on your site. You must have burned to many bridges already. Not
sure if any of you are Philly local or transplants, but this town is 3
degrees of separation. If you continue your lazy journalism, your
irresponsibility will cause you to end just as badly as the 1985 MOVE!
Your so-called online city blog reporting is the very reason why big
names and big money don’t come to Philadelphia. You have continued the
tradition of bad mouthing, trash talking, and belittling anything that has
the potential to be great!
You will be here long after everyone with sense and pride “move to New
York City,” you say?
Don’t think so, just like Mayor Nutter, WE ARE TAKING THIS CITY BACK!
Piss OFF Philebrity!

Is this some sort of a racist innuendo calling Angela Russell a “baby mama”, she is a married women and a very well educated African American women. I find this article appalling and offensive. When people get together for a great cause, we are provoked for unnecessary reasons, mind you I can take being insulted but why would you guys choose to be so reckless and insensitive to the art of people that you haven’t even researched. Philadelphia is overlooked by the major players doing event such as ours due to the lack of support. We’ve work hard, we drew in great sponsors and in return we get this insulting article. One would think there is room in the city to host a Fashion show as well as a flower show without the kindergarten name calling. It will be in good taste for you guys to bring down this article because this is clearly deformation of character.
